Superior Avenue Historic District
Take a Hike: Stroll Series tour
August | Sundays | 1pm
Step into the heart of Cleveland’s former garment district—once second only to New York City’s—on this guided tour of the Superior Avenue Historic District. This 23-building corridor is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and offers a window into the city’s industrial and cultural legacy.
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this area thrived as a center for garment manufacturing, contributing significantly to Cleveland’s economic growth and offering jobs to thousands of immigrant workers. Today, its impressive architecture—featuring sturdy brick warehouses, elegant commercial buildings, and remnants of early 20th-century design—tells the story of that industrious past.
You’ll also see how historic preservation has played a pivotal role in revitalizing this neighborhood. This tour is not just about the past—it’s about how honoring Cleveland’s heritage is helping to shape its future.
