Launched in 2009, Take a Hike® educates and entertains guests through immersive experiences and tours of Cleveland’s historic and landmark districts.  Showcasing history, architecture, heritage and culture, tour guides share interesting stories and historical insights at various points of interest.

2025 Take a Hike® program features expanded tours and experiences, offering immersive opportunities that deepen participants' connection to our city’s vibrant cultures and rich heritage.

SUMMER SERIES: June 1 - Sept 30

Our flagship program offers primarily free, 90-minute guided walking tours of Cleveland’s historic and landmark neighborhoods. Along every tour, two historical Clevelanders, portrayed by talented actors and actresses, share their stories and highlight their roles in shaping our city.

NEW! STROLL SERIES: May - November

A NEW program offering primarily free, 45-60 minute guided walking tours of Cleveland focused on specific eras, cultures or heritages. These immersive tours may include visits to historic archives, museums and churches as well as food tastings and feature historical character portrayals.

SEASONAL SERIES:

SPRING | FALL | HOLIDAY

Spring + Fall + Holiday Series each include a unique Timeless Traditions | Modern Celebrations exhibit and a line-up of complementary strolls.

Timeless Traditions | Modern Celebrations is a collection of displays, created in partnership with cultural organizations, showcasing customs and folklore celebrated today by Cleveland families. The displays will be showcased in storefront spaces in The Arcade, the first building in Cleveland to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The exhibit is free and accessible to the public during open hours, daily 7am - 7pm.
