Established in 1826, Erie Street Cemetery is the oldest existing cemetery in Cleveland and serves as the burial ground for many pioneer families and military veterans of the Revolutionary War and Civil War.  This tour will begin inside the East 9th Street entrance with a conversation about the lives of Cleveland’s first permanent settlers.  Among the tour’s highlights will be the stories of 19th century civil rights pioneer John Malvin and Native American Joc-O-Sot, also known as Walking Bear.
