Frequently Asked Questions

WHERE SHOULD I PARK?

The parking meters downtown are free on Saturdays and Sundays and also free after 6 PM on weekdays. Please read all parking-related signage on streets carefully to avoid getting parking tickets, especially in construction areas. Additionally, each Eventbrite tour page has specific information on parking options and meeting locations for that tour.

HOW MANY MILES WILL I WALK PER TOUR?

Throughout each tour, you will walk no more than 2 miles total, with periodic stops at various destinations. During self-guided tours, please feel encouraged to take any breaks as necessary and remember that detours are encouraged!

HOW DO I USE THE INTERACTIVE MAP FOR SELF-GUIDED TOURS?

We recommend taking a look at our 3-step guide before your tour so you are comfortable with the configurations.

ARE THE TOURS KID FRIENDLY? DOG FRIENDLY?

YES! Our tour guides welcome families to join us on Take a Hike®, however the information tends to be of more interest to adults. Each neighborhood and guide gladly welcomes dogs!

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Each tour will begin promptly at its designated start time. Please arrive approximately 5-10 minutes early to complete a brief registration and to obtain a Take a Hike sticker. Allow additional time for parking, as well.

CAN I SCHEDULE A PRIVATE GROUP TOUR?

Yes. Give us a call to discuss if you are interested in making special arrangements.
